Solar Array
The solar array consists of one ore more PV (photovoltaic)
modules which convert sunlight into eletricity. The array is tilted
to the sun. Uni-Solar manufacturers PV roofing laminate for the metal pans in a standing seam metal roof. Other array installation methods include roof, ground, and top of pole
mounts for framed PV panels manufactured by Solar World, BP Solar, Sharp,
Sanyo, Evergreen, and others.

Crystalline Silicon Cells
Crystalline silicon cells provide maximum energy density per
surface area of PV module, but are sensitive to shading. Shading
just one cell will dramatically reduce the production of the entire
module. The modules are usually framed in aluminum, are light weight
and highly resistant to water, abrasion, hail, and other
environmental factors. They are a good choice for applications with
full sun exposure.
Thin Film Technology
Crystalline modules loose efficiency and produce less
electricity when temperatures rises, while heat does not affect the
productivity of thin-film panels. Thin film panels produce energy
even when shaded, or in indirect or diffused light. Thin film panels
require about twice the surface area per watt as cyrstalline
modules. The Uni-Solar roofing laminate is a Building Integrated PV System.

Sharp Solar Modules
Sharp offers a variety of medium to large rectangular framed crystalline PV modules, and triangular modules to fit roof shapes.
